Women's car insurance details must be kept up to date
Thu, 02 Jun 2005
Women are being urged to ensure that their keep their car insurance details up to date in order to qualify for appropriate cover.
Norwich Union is launching a new campaign aimed at encouraging drivers to make sure their insurer is aware of any change in circumstances.
Drivers are obliged to let insurance companies know if they move address, change occupation or develop a problem with their health.
Providing up to date information also allows for greater detection of motorists driving without insurance. Insurers provide vehicle information of the insured to the Motor Insurers Database (MID) to help the police track down uninsured vehicles.
"It is tremendously important for motorists, police and insurers that the Motor Insurers Database is kept up to date," said Jim Noakes, director of distribution and service development at Norwich Union.
"Motorists can play an important role in reducing the cost of uninsured drivers by making sure their details are fully up to date with their insurer or broker."
