Women's car insurance provider takes ethical leap
Mon, 27 Jun 2005

The company, following the results of questionnaires with five million of its policy holders, will only interact with firms supported by 98 per cent of its customers.

"For the first time and in the best traditions of a co-operative, individual policyholders have had their say, so there is now a direct link between an individual customer and the engagement policy of a major institutional investor," said David Anderson, chief executive of the Co-operative Insurance Society.

The policy is the result of an extensive consultation with its five

The move echoes the current stance of the Co-operative Bank, which refuses to deal with companies viewed as unethical.
