Shop around to get a good deal on women's car insurance
Tue, 04 Oct 2005
Female motorists are being encouraged to shop around to find the best deal for their insurance cover. Although premiums have risen by around five per cent over the last four months, Sainsbury's Car Insurance believes that seeking out the most competitive quote could save drivers up to £180 on their annual costs. The company's research showed that the average car insurance premium during July rose to £490.13, compared to £465.18 in April. However, spending more time obtaining quotes could significantly lower this amount. "Insuring your car equates to around 22 per cent of the total annual cost of driving but by shopping around, it is one of the easiest expenses to cut so it is certainly worthwhile spending a little more time on the phone or online," said Joanne Mallon, Sainsburys car insurance manager. "Female drivers could actually find that premiums have fallen recently so a little shopping around could save them even more," she added.
