Risk taking can invalidate women's car insurance
Wed, 02 Nov 2005
Risk taking and driving under stress could invalidate women's car insurance, claims a new study. Research by swiftcover.com suggests that four out of five UK drivers admit they take risks when driving because they are running late or in a hurry. Motorists also admit to using their mobile phones whilst driving as well as undercutting fellow road users in order to arrive at their destination sooner. Craig Staniland, director of underwriting at swiftcover.com, said "Stress seems to be part of everyday, modern life for many but, when it occurs whilst behind the wheel, it can become positively lethal. "It is possible for motorists to reduce their stress levels. Better planning and taking a few minutes before setting off to relax, can help lessen pressure and avoid accidents caused by careless driving." Women are being advised to try and reduce their stress levels behind the wheel by planning their journeys and ensuring they allow plenty of time, otherwise they could risk invalidating their car insurance policy.
