Quoteacar claims 21 is best age for motorists
New research suggests that 21-year olds are now the most likely age group to benefit from lower insurance premiums, according to Quoteacar.
The online arm of the Allen and Allen group of insurance intermediaries, has found that the customary trend of insurance premiums dropping when motorists hit twenty five no longer applies, and car owners can in fact begin accruing their No Claims Discount at a much younger age.
The research is based on reviews of over 100 risks, covering both men and women's car insurance markets.
Quoteacar used this information to ascertain the average discounts given by insurers as motorists get older. The findings show that by far the biggest discount is now proffered to 21-year olds.
Giles Ashley, from Quoteacar, claims the figures "show it's possible to save an average of 30 per cent on motor insurance premiums just by reaching 21".
"More importantly, if drivers used their teens to start building up a No Claims Bonus and managed to stay accident free, the premiums fall even further, but once again it is the 21-year old who gets the biggest discount, around 45 per cent," he continued.
