Online sales of women's car insurance set to soar

More women could turn to the internet to buy car insurance as the online financial sector continues to grow.
According to research from NOP World Finance and Sainsbury's Bank, the number of adults using the world web to purchase financial products is set to increase from increase from 3.3 million to 4.2 million over the next 12 months.
Sainsbury's Bank, which sells a variety of products including insurance, revealed that the number of visits to its website has increased by 208 per cent over the last year. Derek Bottom, deputy chief executive of Sainsbury's Bank said, "As consumers lead busier lives we are seeing an increasing number of people turning to the web to purchase financial services products."
A study by NOP World Financial estimates that almost 3.3 million people bought financial products online last year, with 58 per cent of that total purchasing some form of motor insurance cover.
