No need to hide details of women's car insurance
Fri, 29 Jul 2005
Attitudes to personal finance are changing, meaning that women no longer feel they need to hide financial details such as car insurance costs. Research conducted by Halifax suggests that there is a definite difference in the way men and women regard financial issues. Women are much more likely to hide receipts, with 50 per cent admitting to tucking the receipt anyway to avoid their partner seeing however, this tends to appeal to purchases such as new shoes and clothes rather than practical items such as car insurance cover. However, in more formal circumstances openly discussing finances remains a social taboo, so even if women have managed to secure a outstanding deal for their annual policy, they are still 50 per cent less likely to mention it a formal dinner party then when out with close friends.
