Make sure your women's car insurance covers you abroad
Tue, 09 Aug 2005
Women are being urged to check that their car insurance entitles them to drive abroad. The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) is warning motorists to double-check their insurance documentation before taking their car overseas, especially as many insurers do not automatically offer comprehensive foreign insurance. "Many motorists dont check their car insurance to find out whether they are covered for driving abroad," said Graeme Trudgill, technical services manager at BIBA. "Although having fully comprehensive cover at home, they may only have third party cover for driving abroad or find they are not covered at all." Women are also being advised to make sure they are aware of local motoring laws as well as ensuring they have adequate breakdown cover during their trip abroad.
