Irish motor insurance market set for UK insurers
Two London-based insurers look set to enter the Irish car cover market.
If, as expected, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Environment soon announces the augmentation of the motor insurance market, the arrival of the new companies will be a welcome conclusion to a long search for new providers.
Indeed, the department has been courting potential entrants into the market, which would see, according to the claims of industry experts, premiums fall by as much as £100 for both men and women if new rival insurers emerge.
The introduction of new competitors could also curb significant recent increases in employers' liability and home insurance charges, with the men's and women's car insurance market liable to change.
