Ford demand pushed women's car insurance

More women are choosing to drive Fords than any other vehicle, in a move that could push up demand for female insurance cover.
According to data from specialist insurer Missmotorquote, it has seen the number of women looking to insure a Ford model substantially increase. Since the beginning of 2005, Missmotorquote estimates that 20 per cent of women are enquiring about insurance for Fords, compared with 13.5 per cent for Vauxhalls and ten per cent for Peugeots.
"Set up last year and a hit with the ladies from day one, Missmotorquote uses a unique method to determine risk and hence the cost of insurance, and the make and model of car is only one part of the process, so if they want something a little more racy it's not a problem," said Spencer Street, general manager of Missmotorquote.
"This approach has proved popular with women across the motoring spectrum, who are happy to save time and money by buying their insurance online. They have told us this is what they want and whatever they drive it is clear they have a keen eye for good value," he added.
