Female astuteness may drive women's car insurance deals
Thu, 01 Sep 2005
Women are more concerned about the future of their finances than men, a new survey reveals. The research found that 29 per cent of credit-conscious women are worried about their current level of debt, compared with just 13 per cent of men. Women worry more about every aspect of debt, from their mortgage and taking out a loan to buy a car, to shopping sprees and the general cost of living, according to the poll of 1,500 British adults. This heightened awareness of debt and finances could lead women to shop around more for the best deal on consumer products such as car insurance. The study by Experian, on behalf of credit monitoring service CreditExpert.co.uk, also found that both men and women use introductory zero per cent and balance transfer offers on credit cards to manage their finances. Brits are also more aware of the importance of credit ratings and more than one in twenty people have checked their credit report in the last year.
