Female car insurance premiums largely unchanged
Mon, 25 Apr 2005
Car insurance premiums have remained pretty much unchanged, according to the AA's latest British Insurance Premium Index.
Motor and property cover continued to show little movement, only falling slightly during the first three months of this year.
However, the AA is warning that things may be about to change with a steady increasing of premiums.
The director of AA Insurance, Kevin Sinclair warned: "While these results are, of course, good news for customers, we need to be cautious that a return to more normal conditions does not lead to a sudden reverse of the current trend."
The last two years have seen companies cutting prices as a result of benign weather and lower crime rates.
The latest findings showed that the average comprehensive car insurance premium dropped by £5, or 0.7 per cent, to £750 over the last quarter.
During the past year in total prices have fallen by £25 (3.3 per cent).
