Drivers urged to be cautious in the wet
Oct 10 04
Drivers are being urged to take care amid the wet and windy conditions of the British winter and to ensure they have their insurance up to date to cover any potential damage.
The RAC has called on drivers to be prepared, and sought to highlight the potential for being caught out in flooded areas.
The motoring organisation says that even if flooding has not entered the car's interior it may damage the braking system of the vehicle or cause electrical problems.
If vehicles are caught in a flood, even for a short time, the firm says it is imperative hat motorists get their cars checked out.
The RAC says that it has seen a growing number of automotive problems among its 7 million members as the weather has grown progressively more stormy.
