Diffuse increasing petrol prices with cheap women's car insurance
Tue, 06 Sep 2005
Shopping around for female car insurance could help soften the blow of increasing petrol prices. The recent arrival of Hurricane Katrina in the US has lead to global shortages of oil following mass disruption to production and therefore prices at the petrol pump are likely to reach record levels over coming weeks. It is estimated that nearly 80 per cent of crude oil production in the Gulf of Mexico has been hit by the storms and that BP and Shell are considering raising prices to around £1 a litre. However, some women drivers could help reduce their annual motoring costs by investing more time in finding a competitively priced insurance quote as well as adopting some basic fuel saving techniques. Checking that tyres are correctly inflated and ensuring vehicles are not carrying unnecessary weight can help to make a full tank of petrol go even further. Drivers are also reminded to turn off their air conditioning to save around ten per cent of their fuel costs, especially as the colder weather starts to take effect.
