Competitive prices benefit women's car insurance customers
Tue, 07 Jun 2005
Women could find their car insurance costs reduced following an increase in competition within the industry.
It is expected that many car insurance companies are planning to increase their expenditure on advertising in order to secure more customers. Leading insurer Ensure has announced that it is already planning to double its current UK motoring insurance operations.
Recent research shows that around 18.3 million motorists paying up to £6.7 billion in premiums each year obtain more than one quote for their car insurance and it is important for insurers to appeal to female drivers.
"The car insurance sector is one of the most competitive in retail financial services," said Jonathan Hewitt, director of insurances at Sainsbury's Bank.
"We have a market leading product that offers a great combination of competitive premiums and quality cover and hopefully with our new TV advertising, we can take this message to a much wider audience."
